Thoughts on Pumblechook

What a twerp.  Pumblechook is taking all of the credit for Pip's new high class level.  I don't feel bad for Pip, however.  He is just greedy and obnoxious at this point.  I think that the convict actually is a good person and even though he shouldn't get credit, Pumplechook shouldn't be stealing the spotlight. Grrr. Not a fan of this greedy man.

  1. The man annoys me greatly. His name itself is irritating, and I wonder if Dickens christened him so poorly on purpose. Hopefully Pip can use his new-found power to punish the man, though maybe Pip will become like him. I really hope not! Even though Pip is becoming shallow, I can't help but remember the sweet and innocent boy he was. Also, if my theory about Dickens' naming system is true, Pip will stay good, since he has such a likable name. It's possible, however, that he might take up his real name (Philip Pirrip) in the hopes of being more of a gentleman, in which case I will scream.

  2. Pumblechook is such a jerk! He hasn't done a blessed thing to help Pip and yet he's trying to make it look like HE'S the benefactor!! And it's all for him to just get higher in society. I hate those people who use other's for just their own benefit...
